Student Engagement Welcome Back & Volunteer Events

Student Government had a busy start to the semester; volunteering for the NJ Family First Festival sponsored by New Jersey’s First Lady Tammy Murphy. The event was focused on providing resources and education to the community to end infant mortality rates in Atlantic City.



SGA traveled to the Worthington Atlantic City and Cape May County Campuses to provide assistance for New Student Day. Members participated on a student –led discussion panel about their college experiences and gave helpful tips.


SGA hosted two fun filled days of Welcome Back Club Recruitment for the Mays Landing Campus. Some highlights were Voter Registration, Rutgers Philly Pretzels, Hungry Hippo Challenge, Paint Your Pumpkin, Boardwalk Style Photo booth and Carmel Apple Creations! ACCCEA was on hand to bring the Treats!


A Silent Memorial Observation was hosted by Student Engagement in Memory of the victims of 9/11. A pictorial display was shown followed by the movie “102 Minutes that Changed America”.


Student Engagement celebrated Constitution Day with a NJ Ballot Bowl Kick Off event featuring “Ben Franklin”. Students were able to ask questions about the Constitution and Ben gave the students a history lesson. Atlantic County Superintendent of Elections was on hand to assist students with voter registration. Gabrielle (Atlantic Cape Alumni) and Joy answered student’s questions and registered 11 new voters!

SGA traveled to the Cape May Campus to assist with New Student Day. SGA led panel discussions about their college experience and gave tips for success.

Atlantic City Campus Welcomes Students in a Big Way

During Welcome Back Day at the Atlantic City Campus, the tallest Jenga creation almost reached the ceiling!

Worthington Atlantic City Campus welcomed back their students on Wednesday, Sept. 20, with a host of activities. Party King Entertainment Representative Ronnie brought popcorn and games, such as Connect Four, Checkers and Jenga. Ronnie stated, “Students from Worthington played Jenga to perfection.” The end result was the highest block building he has seen. There was also recruitment from the Cross Cultural Club by Zaki Mohyuddin and Performing Arts Club by Dave Capelli. Vita Stovall from Student Affairs gave every student free notebooks and pens. Worthington Campus also celebrated Constitution Day by giving out The US constitution booklet. Continue reading

Staff Appreciation Event sponsored by SGA

The Student Government Association (SGA) sponsored an employee appreciation event at the Worthington Campus on April 8. SGA wanted to thank staff and faculty for their support throughout the year and had a meet-and-greet to get an opportunity to meet the staff and faculty from various departments at the Atlantic City Campus.

You’re Invited to ‘Young Leaders of the Civil Rights Movement’

SGA will present “Young Leaders of the Civil Rights Movement,” a multimedia performance that provides insight to the legacy of student activism and inspires all ages to lead in today’s challenge for social reform.
The performance will include powerful film footage, thoughtful commentary and inspiring musical performance.

Wednesday, Feb. 24, 12:30 p.m., Walter Edge Theater.

Atlantic Cape’s Student Government Association’s annual Students Change Hunger Food Drive was a great success.

Atlantic Cape’s Student Government Association hosted its annual Students Change Hunger Food Drive from Sept. 15 through Nov. 21 at all three campuses, and it was a huge success. Over the 67 days of the drive, SGA collected more than 1,633 items of food, amounting to 1,292 pounds; 1,142 more pounds than last year. Continue reading
