Restaurant Gala Raises $214,400 for Student Scholarships; 50/50 Raffle Winners Announced

Time is running out to be one of three lucky winners who will share up to $15,000 in the 2018 Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala 50/50 Raffle. The raffle is sponsored by the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation, and will provide emergency funds for students with unforeseen financial needs.

Only 300 tickets will be sold at $100 each and are available now just in time for holiday gift giving. Three cash prizes will be awarded, including: $9,000, first prize; $4,500, second prize; and $1,500, third prize. Dollar amounts are based on all 300 tickets being sold. The winning tickets will be drawn at the March 28 Restaurant Gala at Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center in Atlantic City. Winners do not need to be present to win. Continue reading

The 35th annual Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala will take place on Wednesday, March 28, in the Avalon Ballroom of Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center in Atlantic City.

The annual event celebrates food by highlighting hors d’oeuvres prepared by students in the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape and showcasing the specialties of 40 of the region’s best restaurants during a progressive dining experience. Continue reading

Now in its 35th year, the Restaurant Gala has raised $3 million in student scholarships. This year’s gala theme is “Culinary Magic,” showcasing the extraordinary talent and cooking expertise of the students and alumni of the Academy of Culinary Arts.

Kevin Ortzman, regional president for Caesars Entertainment (Bally’s, Caesars and Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City) will be honored at the Restaurant Gala as the Community Honoree. The 2018 Culinary Honoree is Georgeann Leaming of Brigantine, executive chef of Gordon Ramsay Pub & Kitchen located in Caesars Atlantic City Hotel and Casino and 1999 Academy of Culinary Arts graduate. Leaming was the Season 19 champion on the Food Network’s Chopped! series. Continue reading

Restaurant Gala Raises $212,825 for Student Scholarships; 50/50 Raffle Winners Announced

The 34th annual Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala, with the help of guests, sponsors and donors, raised $212,825, and showcased 40 of the region’s top restaurants at the March 23 event. The proceeds from this event will benefit students at the Academy of Culinary Arts, an emergency fund for students and Atlantic Cape Foundation operations.

Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center in Atlantic City hosted the annual fundraiser, which featured the theme, “Golden Gala,” celebrating the college’s 50th anniversary. The event showcased the talents of the culinary students at the Academy of Culinary Arts, who prepared thousands of sumptuous hot and cold hors d’oeuvres served during the cocktail reception.

The Atlantic Cape Foundation honored Academy of Culinary Arts graduate Chef George Kyrtatas ’99, owner of SweetWater Bar & Grill in Cinnaminson; and Steven Brady, vice chairman of OceanFirst Bank. Continue reading

This year’s theme is the “Golden Gala,” commemorating the college’s 50th anniversary of creating educational opportunities for Atlantic and Cape May County residents. The Restaurant Gala has raised $3 million since its inception in 1984, with proceeds benefiting student scholarships at the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College and Atlantic Cape Foundation operations.
