Atlantic Cape Offers Medical Assistant Program; New Evening Hybrid Option Available

25017601804_3bef4c9778_zThe Health Professions Institute at Atlantic Cape Community College offers a comprehensive Medial Assistant Training Program at the college’s Atlantic City Campus this fall, in two different formats.

Medical Assistant, Daytime, Classroom Option is offered in a traditional format of classroom instruction and some online work, meeting Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., beginning Oct. 10.

Medical Assistant, Evening, Hybrid Option is a more flexible option that allows students to complete most coursework online, with skills lab instruction, 6-9 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning Sept. 20. Students must register by end of day Monday, Sept. 12. Continue reading

Atlantic Cape prepares students for careers as a:

Eighteen students in the Medical Assistant class offered through the Health Professions Institute at Atlantic Cape Community College graduated, Wednesday, June 8, at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd. The 620-hour program trained students to perform a variety of administrative and clinical duties in the offices of physicians and other health care facilities, and included six weeks of clinical training. Health Professions Institute’s Medical Assistant Class Demonstrates Clinical Skills for Potential Employers

Eighteen students in the Medical Assistant Class offered through the Health Professions Institute at Atlantic Cape Community College had the opportunity to demonstrate their clinical skills to AtlantiCare representatives, Tuesday, March 8, at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd. Demonstrations included reading blood pressure, phlebotomy, removal of stitches and sutures, wound care and EKG monitoring. In a month, these students will go out into the field to perform their externships, where they may find permanent employment after. Continue reading
