Atlantic Cape Community College Invites Students to Hands-On FAFSA Sessions at Atlantic City and Mays Landing Campuses this Spring

Atlantic Cape Community College invites students to attend a free hands-on FAFSA session for help completing a 2018-2019 Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The U.S. Department of Education awards about $150 billion each year in grants, work-study funds, and low-interest loans to more than 15 million students. Federal student aid covers such expenses as tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and transportation. Aid may also help pay for such related expenses as a computer and dependent care.

Upcoming Events at Atlantic Cape Community College

Atlantic Cape Community College is hosting the following events during the month of February:

Feb. 6, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.: African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey, Inc. presents “A Time for Change: Civil Rights in New Jersey,” hosted by Student Activities in honor of Black History Month, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., in the Student Center lobby of the Mays Landing Campus.

Feb. 6, 12:30 p.m.: Artist lecture with Treacy Ziegler on her exhibit “Inside Out,” featured at Atlantic Cape’s art gallery, at 12:30 p.m. in the art gallery located in D Building of the Mays Landing Campus. The exhibit showcases her works as well as works by four prisoners from her prison workshops. Continue reading

Atlantic Cape Community College invites students to attend a free hands-on FAFSA session for help completing a 2018-2019 Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Sessions will be held at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd., on the following dates in Lab 132:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 13, 12:30-2 p.m.
  • Thursday, Dec. 14, 5-6:30 p.m.

Financial aid specialists will provide information, answer questions and help students complete a 2018-2019 online FAFSA form. Students must bring their own and their parents’ 2016 tax returns, all W-2 forms and all Social Security numbers. Students must also bring their FSA ID and password and a photo ID (student ID or a state-issued ID.) Continue reading

Free Help Available April 22 to Complete Federal Financial Aid Forms

Atlantic Cape Community College is offering free financial aid application assistance at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, at the Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike, room B-136. Financial aid professionals can help you navigate the federal financial aid process and complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

This free workshop is designed to assist students and parents in beginning and completing their FAFSA. All federal grants, loans and federal work study program funds are awarded based on the information provided on the FAFSA. This application is free and every student should complete this application, regardless of a student’s family’s financial status.

Students wishing to attend college in summer 2015 should bring their 2013 tax return. Students planning to attend college beginning in fall 2015 should bring their 2014 tax return. Students who are under age 24 also need to bring their parent’s tax return. Additional documents necessary to complete the form are the student’s Social Security card and parents’ Social Security cards, if the student is under age 24.
