Aviation Studies program participates on Air Mobility panel at the 5th annual UAS conference

Aviation studies professor Jim Eberwine, 2nd from right, spoke on the Air Mobility panel at the 5th annual UAS conference in Cape May County. The Atlantic Cape Aviation Studies program was a co-sponsor of the event, which explores the latest issues and efforts in drone technology with innovators from throughout New Jersey and adjoining States.

Atlantic Cape Community College Receives National Funding, Resources to Expand on Drone Technology Program

drone flying in sky over fieldThis summer, Atlantic Cape Community College received two prestigious grants that will turn it into a resource and lead institution for drone technology in the tri-state area. Few community colleges are awarded such accolades.

In July 2018, Atlantic Cape was awarded a grant of $224,761 from the National Science Foundation for the college’s “Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operations and Maintenance Education and Training Project.” This grant’s term is from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021 and will provide funding for advance technician training in the rapidly evolving field of small commercial unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), commonly referred to as “drones.” Continue reading

Atlantic Cape Offering a Variety of Aviation Courses This Fall; Drone Information Sessions Being Held Aug. 23 at Cape May County Campus

Atlantic Cape Community College will offer a variety of courses this fall that are part of the Aviation Studies Associate in Science degree with the options of becoming a professional pilot or professional helicopter pilot.

Courses include Experiential Flight, Simulated Flight, Aeronautical Knowledge, National Airspace System, Intro/Unmanned Aircraft System, UAS Operation-Multi-Rotor, Private Pilot Helicopter, Remote Sensing Using UAS, Private Pilot, Instrumental Pilot, Instrumental Pilot Helicopter, Commercial Pilot Helicopter, Airplane Flight Instructor, Commercial Pilot, Helicopter Flight Instructor and Multi-Engine Pilot.
