Atlantic Cape’s Art Gallery Features ‘Atlantic County Parks’ Exhibit Sept. 27-Oct. 27

Atlantic Cape Community College’s art gallery, in partnership with Atlantic County Friends of the Parks, Inc., will host “Atlantic County Parks,” an exhibit showcasing plein air paintings, photos by Michael Hogan, and artifacts from Atlantic County Park System Collection, Sept. 27-Oct. 27.

There will be an opening reception 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 27. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. Continue reading

Atlantic Cape’s Art Gallery Features ‘Living Canvases Through a Lens’ Exhibit July 26-Sept. 22

Atlantic Cape Community College’s art gallery will host “Living Canvases Through a Lens,” a collaborative exhibit showcasing body painting by Heather Deegan Hires portrayed through the photography of Ruben D. Garcia, both of Somers Point, July 26-Sept. 22.

Atlantic Cape’s Art Gallery Features ‘Celebrate Atlantic Cape 2018!’ Exhibit March 16-April 28

painting of woman canoeingAtlantic Cape Community College’s art gallery will host “Celebrate Atlantic Cape 2018!,” an exhibit showcasing artwork by Atlantic Cape employees and participants in the Continuing Education Studio Arts workshops, March 16-Apil 28.

There will be a closing reception 1-3 p.m., Saturday, April 28. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

The gallery is located inside the William Spangler Library, D Building, at Atlantic Cape’s Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike. Gallery hours are: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday; and 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., Saturday.

The gallery will host monthly exhibits of a wide variety of works including drawings, paintings, printmaking, computer arts, ceramics, sculpture, photography, mixed media, 2-D design and crafts. Showcased artists will be students, faculty and local artisans.

Atlantic Cape’s Art Gallery Features Artist Treacy Ziegler’s ‘Inside Out’ Exhibit for a Limited Time

drawing of a man and an owlAtlantic Cape Community College’s art gallery will host “Inside Out,” an exhibit showcasing artwork by artist Treacy Ziegler in varied media as well as works by four prisoners from her prison workshops; including paper cast sculpture made from the letters of prisoners incarcerated throughout the United States. The exhibit will be on display from Feb. 6-March 10.

Since graduating from Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Ziegler, of Newfield, New York, has been featured in over 35 solo exhibitions in the United States and in Canada, including an exhibition at the Herbert Johnson Art Museum of Cornell University and the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira New York. An artist of intellect, distinction and compassion, she is the recipient of numerous awards and author of papers on art, identity, and philosophy, while also cited for teaching art to prisoners in solitary confinement. Working with both printmaking and oil paints, Ziegler constructs large images of fleeting light surrounded by darkness, resulting in subjective narratives for the viewer to discover and unravel. Feb. 6, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.: African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey, Inc. presents “A Time for Change: Civil Rights in New Jersey,” hosted by Student Activities in honor of Black History Month, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., in the Student Center lobby of the Mays Landing Campus.

Feb. 6, 12:30 p.m.: Artist lecture with Treacy Ziegler on her exhibit “Inside Out,” featured at Atlantic Cape’s art gallery, at 12:30 p.m. in the art gallery located in D Building of the Mays Landing Campus. The exhibit showcases her works as well as works by four prisoners from her prison workshops. Continue reading

Atlantic Cape Art Gallery Hosts “Atlantic County Parks” Exhibit Through Oct. 28; Two Lectures Highlighted

The Atlantic Cape Community College Art Gallery is host to the exhibit “Atlantic County Parks” created in partnership with Atlantic County Friends of the Parks, Inc. through Saturday, Oct. 28.  

The exhibit includes 21 paintings of park scenes created by 16 artists, photographs by Greg Vizzi, and artifacts from the collection of the Atlantic County Park System. Two lectures will be presented during the exhibit. At 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, Fred Akers from the Great Egg Harbor National Scenic and Recreational River Council and Watershed Association will present “The Great Egg Harbor River: A Wild and Scenic River Through Atlantic County Parks.”  At 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, Bill Reinert of the Atlantic County Parks and Environment Advisory Commission will present “An Overview of the Atlantic County Park System and Open Space.”  

The exhibit and lectures are free and open to the general public.

Art Gallery Hosts Exhibit Featuring Juried Student Artwork April 28-May 12

“Faculty Selects 2017,” an exhibit featuring juried student artwork, is on display at Atlantic Cape Community College’s art gallery, April 28-May 12. A closing awards ceremony will be held from 3-4:30 p.m., Friday, May 12. The gallery is located in the William Spangler Library at Atlantic Cape’s Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike.

Atlantic Cape Community College’s Art Gallery will feature an exhibit, “Food as Art,” through Jan. 21, at the gallery, located inside the William Spangler Library, D Building, of Atlantic Cape’s Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike.

The exhibit features works by Wanda Chudzinski of Blackwood, Donna Connor of Egg Harbor City, Susan Irland of Egg Harbor Township, Doreen Khebzou, of Absecon, Mary Ann Kline of Egg Harbor Township, Chuck Law of Linwood, Dustin Rebecca of Lindenwold, Ethan Rubin of Linwood, Linda Wexler of Mays Landing and Chef Michael Williams of Absecon. Academy of Culinary Arts Baking and Pastry students, Alexandra Falciani of Hammonton, Anyssa Perez of Barnegat and Gina Raccaniello of Toms River, also created marzipan pieces that will be on display during the exhibit.
