Winners Announced for 50/50 Restaurant Gala Raffle

Lucky ticket-holders shared $10,750 in prizes at this year’s Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala 50/50 Raffle held March 24, at Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center in Atlantic City.

The winners include:

First Prize, $6,450, Nicholas Cassano of Egg Harbor Township

Second Prize, $3,225, Joe DelVescio of Ocean View

Third Prize, $1,075, Richard T. Gerber of Northfield

Winning amounts were based on the number of tickets sold. This year, 215 raffle tickets were sold at $100 each, raising $10,750 for grants, emergency aid and leadership development for Atlantic Cape students.

In its history, the Gala has raised $3 million for scholarships and Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation operations.

Restaurant Gala Raises $234,700 for Student Scholarships

The 33rd annual Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala, with the help of guests, sponsors and donors, raised $234,700, and showcased 40 of the region’s top restaurants at the March 24 event. The proceeds from this event will benefit students at the Academy of Culinary Arts, leadership development programs and Atlantic Cape Foundation operations.

Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center in Atlantic City hosted the annual fundraiser, which featured the theme, “MISSION: POSSIBLE.” The event showcased the talents of the culinary students at the Academy of Culinary Arts, who prepared thousands of sumptuous hot and cold hors d’oeuvres served during the cocktail reception.

Last Chance to Purchase Gala 50/50 Raffle Tickets to Benefit Atlantic Cape Scholarships

Three lucky winners will share up to $15,000 in the 2016 Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala 50/50 Raffle. The raffle is sponsored by the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation, and proceeds benefit student scholarships and Atlantic Cape Foundation operations.

Only 300 tickets will be sold at $100 each. Three cash prizes will be awarded, including: $9,000, first prize; $4,500, second prize; and $1,500, third prize. Dollar amounts are based on all 300 tickets being sold. The winning tickets will be drawn at the March 24 Restaurant Gala at Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center in Atlantic City, a new venue for the gala. Winners do not need to be present to win.

Now in its 33rd year, the Restaurant Gala has raised $3 million in student scholarships.

Time Is Running Out to Buy Tickets for March 24 Restaurant Gala

Time is running out to purchase tickets for South Jersey’s premier food and beverage fundraising event. The 33rd annual Atlantic Cape Community College “MISSION: POSSIBLE” Restaurant Gala takes place Thursday, March 24, in the Avalon Ballroom of Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center in Atlantic City, a new venue for the gala.

The annual event celebrates food with tantalizing hors d’oeuvres prepared by students at the Academy of Culinary Arts and the house specialties of 42 of the area’s best restaurants at a sumptuous dining experience. A dessert extravaganza, organized by Chef Deborah Pellegrino of Caesars Entertainment and Chef Michael D’Angelo of the Academy of Culinary Arts, will complete the evening’s festivities, including tiered cakes, chocolate stations and delectable petit fours, and so much more. Cigars and cordials are also back by popular demand.    Continue reading

Local Chefs see 2016 Restaurant Gala from New Perspective

Dylan, Steven GalaEach year, Academy of Culinary Arts students learn firsthand what its like to create a successful black-tie event, from the chaos of the kitchen, to the hospitality side of serving guests at the annual Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala. Several ACA graduates are now working the Gala from a slightly different perspective. Dylan Bonilla ’15 of Egg Harbor City, represented the Academy of Culinary Arts two years ago as a student, but he returns this year, as chef for the Historic Smithville Inn.

Bonilla says, “To work at the Gala means a lot to me. I enjoy the night of seeing smiles, meeting people and helping raise money for scholarships for ACA students.” He was a multiple scholarship recipient and says, “If it wasn’t for that, I really don’t know how I would have attended college.” Continue reading
