Time is Running Out to Register for Fall Classes at Atlantic Cape; Extended Hours Offered Aug. 15 at all Three Campuses

Students can also register online at www.atlantic.edu/fall or in person, Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at any of the college’s three locations: Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike; the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd.; and the Cape May County Campus, 341 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House. The college is closed on Fridays through Aug. 17. Short-term Culinary Training Programs Prepare Future Chefs in 17 Weeks

men and women chefs working in kitchenThe Academy of Culinary Arts will offer two four-month noncredit training programs at its new facility at Atlantic Cape Community College’s Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd. The Culinary Training Program and the Baking and Pastry Training Program both begin Sept. 10.

Learn the skills you need to start a career with confidence as a cook, pastry cook or baker in just 17 weeks, at a lower cost than other local culinary training options. All students earn ServSafe certification and learn interview skills. A job fair at the end of the training is scheduled for quick entry into the field. Continue reading

Atlantic Cape Accepting Students for New Paramedic Science Program; Information Sessions Being Offered During Summer, Fall

The Health Professions Institute at Atlantic Cape Community College is now accepting students for the new Paramedic Science Program that is scheduled to start in January 2019.

The program is designed with a focus on student success taught by a team of educators that are highly successful and dedicated paramedics with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Students will experience a hands-on approach in skills and scenario labs, and be provided an interactive learning environment that promotes the kind of critical thinking skills needed to excel in the classroom and in careers in paramedicine. Upon completion, students have the opportunity to advance in the ranks of prehospital care providers as Nationally Registered Paramedics. Continue reading

Time is Running Out to Earn College Credit This Summer at Atlantic Cape

Time is running out to register for summer classes at Atlantic Cape Community College. The final six-week summer session runs July 9-Aug. 16. Whether you’re a current student, recent high school graduate or attending a four-year college and home for the summer, you can earn credits toward your degree this summer.

A variety of credit courses beginning Monday, July 9, include: Introduction to College Chemistry, Composition II, Statistical Methods, General Psychology, U.S. History II, Microbiology, Public Speaking, Criminal Law, Elementary Spanish I and many more.

Atlantic Cape Community College is offering a variety of credit courses online and in person this summer to accommodate a range of lifestyles. Whether you’re a current student, recent high school graduate or attending a four-year college and home for the summer, you can earn credits toward your degree during Atlantic Cape’s summer sessions. Choose from courses in art, aviation, business, communication, computers, English, math, science and more. The second session runs June 25-Aug. 16 and the in-person registration deadline is June 21. Students can still register online, by fax or mail through June 24.

Free ESL Classes being offered at Atlantic Cape’s Atlantic City Campus June 4-Aug. 9

Beginning today, La Casa Dominicana New Jersey is offering free ESL classes at Atlantic Cape Community College’s Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd.

The 40-hour program meets 5:30-7:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, June 4-Aug. 9. A graduation ceremony will be held for participants on Aug. 9.

The last day to register in person for Atlantic Cape’s first summer sessions is Friday, May 18. Online, mail and fax registrations will be accepted through Sunday, May 20. These deadlines pertain to in-person and online courses for Atlantic Cape’s full session, May 21-Aug. 16; six-week session, May 21-June 28; and the 11-day accelerated session, May 21-June 7. Greetings from the Worthington Atlantic City Campus–April 20, 2018

The Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus celebrated Earth Day on April 17. Highlights included students being given peat pots with flower seeds made by The Cross Cultural Club, and club members Najmin Kalam and Israt Salma provided Mehndi hand-painted designs. Thanks to the club volunteers and advisers, Shirley Shields and Michael Kammer, ESL professors, for all their hard work in making the day a huge success. Continue reading
