PTK C4 Completion Challenge Week:

Dr. Tammy DeFranco, director Cape May Campus worked with Holly Schultheis; PTK Advisor in signing up students for the C4 Completion.

New Freshman Senator Selected:

Congratulations to student; Kaitlin Manson on her proud accomplishment as our Freshman Senator representing Cape May. Kaitlin was very excited and is working on her degree in Education so she can become a Special Education teacher.

Pizza with the President on Oct. 4:

Dr. President Gaba had pizza with students at the Cape May Campus. Students exchanged ideas and provided information.

Hispanic Heritage Month:

Dr. Tammy DeFranco, director Cape May Campus and students with the Circle K club provided light refreshments honoring Hispanic Heritage month with Cuban coffee, Spanish desserts, and featured artist Frida Kahlo. Students enjoyed the wonderful flavors and thought it was a great way to start their morning. An extra benefit is that Circle K was able to sign-up more students to their club.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month:

Dr. Tammy DeFranco, director Cape May Campus worked closely with C.A.R.A. (Coalition Against Rape and Abuse) to present The Clothesline Project to our students. The Clothesline Project depicts domestic violence trauma with drawings on t-shirts. There is also table of information on domestic violence and where to seek help for students.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month:

Cape May students (Circle K club and advisor Professor McElry) and staff recognized and honored Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Tribute to the Lenni-Lenape Nanticoke Tribe on Nov. 12: 

Dr. Tammy DeFranco, director Cape May Campus and Professor Cheryl Crews coordinated and organized a tribute to the Lenni-Lenape Nanticoke tribe on Monday, November 12, 2018. Students, employees, and the community joined in the celebration with dancing, art projects, and to learn about the Lenni-Lenape Nanticoke tribe from Chief Gould. Thank you S.G.A. for your support.

Veteran’s Honored on Nov. 12:

Dean Maria Kellett, of the Cape May Campus and Dr. Tammy DeFranco, director of the Cape May Campus honored our Veteran’s with Free coffee and cookies on Monday, November 12, 2018 and they appreciated such thoughtfulness. Thank you S.G.A. for your support.

A “spooktacular” event:

Circle K provided a haunting Halloween party for the students on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

Find the Leadership Within Workshop on Nov. 16:

Dr. Tammy DeFranco, director Cape May Campus provide a “Find the Leadership Within” workshop for over 100 local high school students at the Peer Leadership Conference through Cape Assist at the Wildwood Convention Center on Friday, November 16, 2018.


In other news…

Dr. Tammy DeFranco, director Cape May Campus met with the counselors and superintendent of Wildwood High School about providing a “Career Day” for their students in January of 2019.

Dean Maria Kellett, Dean of the Cape May Campus and Dr. Tammy DeFranco, director of the Cape May Campus met with local high school principals in having their eight grade students visit in March 2019 for a Career Day.
