Atlantic Cape Board of Trustees Honors Trustee Leslie White-Coursey for her Service to the College and Welcomes New Trustee Dr. Judith DeStefano-Anen in October Meeting

MAYS LANDING – The Atlantic Cape Community College Board of Trustees conducted their monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 30 at the Atlantic City Campus. Joining the Board was Dr. Judith DeStefano-Anen, Interim Executive County Superintendent for Cape May County.

The following motions were approved by the Board of Trustees:

 Contracts and Purchases: 

  • Approved Bid Ex 811, SimView Systems, Laerdal Medical Corp, Wappingers Fall, NY, FY19 Perkins Grant Funds, $89,890.00;
  • Approved Bid 1846 Autoclave, Steris Corp., Mentor, OH, FY19 R&R, $40,350.00;
  • Approved Bid OQ158 – Revised, Architectural Services for Building A Renovation, Spiezle Architectural Group, Inc., Hamilton, NJ, Chapter 12 Funds, $97,390.00.

Grants: 

The Board approved the acceptance of a grant of $250,000 from the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority and the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education, in order to provide planning, outreach and recruitment of students eligible under the Governor’s Community College Opportunity Grant Program (CCOG).

In Personnel Matters, the Board Approved:

  • The appointment of Carmen Cabrera, Assistant Director, Admissions, effective October 31, 2018;
  • The appointment of Victor Moreno, College Recruiter, Admissions, effective October 31, 2018;
  • The appointment of Stacey Zacharoff, Director, Student Success Center, effective October 31, 2018;
  • The reclassification of Michael Barnes, from Assistant Director, Center for Accessibility to Director, Center for Accessibility, effective October 31, 2018;
  • The reclassification of Chad Bullock, Senior Manager, Adaptive Technology, Center for Accessibility effective October 31, 2018;
  • The reclassification of Lisa Givens, from Manager, Student Activities and Athletics to Manager, Student Engagement, effective October 31, 2018;
  • The reclassification of Douglas Mills, from Specialist, Conference and Meeting Services to Manager, Conference and Campus Operations, effective October 31, 2018;
  • The reclassification of Anita Polanco, Assistant Director, Educational Opportunity Fund, effective October 31, 2018;
  • The reassignment of Daymis Alicea, from Program Coordinator, Career and Academic Planning Center to Program Coordinator, Student Success Center, effective October 31, 2018;
  • The reassignment of Rahshana Davis, from Program Coordinator, Career and Academic Planning Center to Scholarship Manager, Financial Aid, effective November 8, 2018;
  • The reassignment of Eric Stewart, from Program Officer, Career and Academic Planning Center to Program Coordinator, Student Success Center, effective October 31, 2018;
  • The title change of Myrna Morales Keklak, from Division Chair, Nursing and Allied Health to Division Chair, Nursing and Health Sciences, effective October 31, 2018;
  • The title change of Nancy Porfido, Director, Student Development and Judicial Officer to Director, Student Engagement and Judicial Officer, effective October 31, 2018;
  • The resignation of Amanda McCullough, Social Media/Public Relations Manager, Marketing and College Relations retroactive to October 12, 2018;
  • The retirement of Mr. Douglas Hedges, Chief Information Officer, since May 1, 1995, effective December 31, 2018.

In Other Business, the Board:

  • Approved the resolution extending appreciation to Trustee Leslie White-Coursey for her service to the Board, the College, and its students, wishing her well as the next Executive County Superintendent of Cumberland County.
  • Approved the FY18 Draft Financial Statement for twelve months ended June 30, 2018 as of October 11, 2018.
  • Approved the FY19 Financial Statement for three months ended September 30, 2018.

The next meeting of the Atlantic Cape Community College Board of Trustees is scheduled for 6 p.m. on November 20 at the Mays Landing Campus.
