A message from Heather Fischer, Office of Academic Affairs:

Need to schedule a research instruction session for your class?

If your students are working on a research assignment, the library will be happy to teach a session on finding and selecting appropriate sources.

For this to be successful, it’s important to time the session so that the students are actively engaged in the research process. If you are teaching a developmental class, and want to help students attain basic information management skills, librarians will be happy to work with you on designing sessions to scaffold those skills.

Because our staff is very small, it’s important to give us a couple of weeks’ notice when you request your library session. Placing your request early in the semester makes it more likely that we will be able to accommodate your preferred date(s). Please plan to attend the library session; your presence is essential to student learning. To schedule a library session, please send email to library@atlantic.edu. Be sure to include your contact information, the name of the course, and your preferred dates.

Our deepest condolences to Terri-Lynn Hamby, assistant director, Science Labs, on the loss of her brother-in-law John MaGee. He was 25.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept.8, 2018 from 10-11 a.m., with services beginning at 11 a.m., at Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad Street, Woodstown, NJ 08098.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be sent to a memorial fund in John’s name to the Bethel Bible Baptist Church, 20 Elmwood Avenue, Carneys Point, NJ 08069.

Expressions may be sent to Terri-Lynn and Doug Hamby at 12 E. Greenwood Avenue, Villas, NJ 08251.
