The Atlantic Cape Community College Archery Team competed in the 2018 United States National Collegiate Championships, May 17 – 21, on the campus of the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. More than 500 archers representing 50 different colleges from across the country participated in the competition.
Atlantic Cape Community College archer Kerri Byrne of Egg Harbor Township, All East Female Compound Archer, finished in 12th place after scoring several victories in individual elimination competition. Byrne, together with teammate Matthew Schreiber of Mays Landing who finished in 20th place in the Male Compound Division, finished in 4th place in the Mixed Compound Team competition, losing a tight back and forth battle with Emmanuel College in the Bronze Medal match. Atlantic Cape defeated Michigan State University in the Quarterfinals, and lost to Hocking College in the Semifinals. Continue reading
