Atlantic Cape Community College has named Heather Fischer of Ocean City the 2018 Employee of the Year. Fischer joined the college in 2010 as an administrative assistant for Academic Affairs.

“Heather is a strong team member and consistently demonstrate a cooperative attitude with peers and supervisory personnel,” said Dr. Arthur Wexler, retired vice president, Academic Affairs at Atlantic Cape.

In selecting Fischer for this award, coworkers specifically commended her willingness to help hundreds of faculty, warmth of human spirit and great humor. Fischer, who holds a bachelor’s degree from LaSalle University, said, “To even be considered with such a strong group of nominees is heartwarming. The talent pool runs deep here at Atlantic Cape.”

The Employee of the Year award is presented to a member of support staff who makes Atlantic Cape a place where students and visitors feel comfortable and welcomed. The Employee of the Year is also someone who works hard and is pleasant and helpful. Fischer will receive a reserved parking spot and gift certificate for Careme’s, the on-campus restaurant run by the Academy of Culinary Arts.
