Egg Harbor Township Boy Scout Visits Atlantic Cape, Meets President on Nov. 27

Boy Scout John Risley III of Egg Harbor Township got the opportunity to meet with Dr. Barbara Gaba, president of Atlantic Cape Community College, as well as tour the Mays Landing Campus, on Monday, Nov. 27, after recently being recognized in the Current of Egg Harbor Township for his service project that benefits military serving overseas.

In the news story highlighting the project that will aid him in achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, Risley expressed interest in continuing his education at Atlantic Cape once he completes his senior year at the Atlantic County Institute of Technology. After two years at Atlantic Cape, he mentioned possibly taking advantage of one of the college’s transfer options with Rutgers or Stockton universities.

Staff members at the college donated various nonperishable items toward the cause and presented him with them during his visit. A donation box will remain at the college to help support his efforts.
