Message from Dr. Gaba Regarding Stockton at Atlantic Cape Signing

To Our College Community:

Atlantic Cape takes great pride in the official partnerships we’ve established with Stockton, Rutgers and FDU with the aim of providing pathways for our students to achieve their educational goals. Our partnerships are strong, with each institution providing opportunity and choices for students who wish to transfer. These partnerships are featured on the College’s webpage.

As we move forward to “get the word out” and “tell our story,” more emphasis will be placed on promoting and marketing these agreements so the College community and the public are more aware of the great opportunities we provide for our students.

As these initiatives are reintroduced, I will be inviting you to attend any public announcements that are scheduled.  On Friday, I sent our College community an invitation to a Stockton University and Atlantic Cape Partnership Signing.

This signing strengthens an already existing conditional dual admissions agreement that we signed with Stockton back in 2015.  As Stockton prepares to open their Atlantic City Campus in Fall 2018, the time was right to take a look at this agreement and update it.

This agreement allows Stockton to maintain their rigor of acceptance at their institution, and offer conditional dual admissions to those students who attend Atlantic Cape and wish to go to Stockton if they maintain an appropriate GPA.  Also it provides for “reverse transfer” so students who start at Atlantic Cape – and later complete at Stockton – can have the appropriate credits transferred back to Atlantic Cape and receive their associate’s degree from Atlantic Cape.  This is a “win-win” for both institutions.

The intent of this partnership is to provide students with a seamless transition; that has never changed.  The strength of this partnership lies in the commitment of both institutions to work together to promote, advise, and track students who can demonstrate successful completion at both institutions.

There is no change in our programs, our courses, and our commitment to faculty, staff or our Atlantic Cape Community College identity.   This partnership is strengthening our Atlantic City presence with Stockton University.  Without a doubt, it is a good thing for Atlantic Cape, Stockton, Atlantic City and our students.

Thank you for your continued support and your efforts to advance the mission of Atlantic Cape.  I look forward to seeing you at the “College-Wide Meeting” on Thursday, September 28.
