Acquinn Phillip

Acquinn Phillip, 25, of Pleasantville, graduates from Atlantic Cape Community College with an associate degree in general studies, and will pursue his bachelor’s degree in communication with a focus on public relations at Stockton University in the fall. He is the first person in his family to graduate college.

Having been born in Trinidad and Tobago and immigrating to the United States, Phillip overcame many obstacles along his educational path, but found leadership skills and opportunities for growth during his time at Atlantic Cape. “I can tell you it was not easy, but my heart and mind kept saying to push forward.”

He became very active in clubs and organizations on campus, including holding leadership roles in the Student Government Association, where he aided fellow students in finding their own successes and interests in school. His growing involvement in these organizations helped him become more social than he was prior to attending Atlantic Cape, strengthening his people skills, as well as professional skills.

In 5 to 10 years, you will find Phillip working in the public relations industry for a big business like Microsoft, Google, Yahoo or Sony.
