Golf Tournament Raises More Than $42,500 for Atlantic Cape Students; Highest Grossing Tournament to Date

The 2016 Atlantic Cape Community College Scramble “Fore” Scholarships golf tournament raised more than $42,500 for student aid and Foundation operations. Held Oct. 7 at Cape May National Golf Club in Cape May, the tournament drew nearly 100 players, and was the highest grossing tournament in the event’s history.

Proceeds from the event will be used for scholarships for students attending Atlantic Cape and for Foundation operations. Golf tournament sponsors included Crest Wealth Management, Ocean City Home Bank, OceanFirst Bank, Ameriprise Financial, Borden Perlman Salisbury & Kelly, Calvi Electric Company, Capaldi, Reynolds & Pelosi, Cape May County Herald, Cape May National Golf Club, CASA Payroll Services, Chalfonte Hotel, Christina Clemans Sotheby’s International Realty, Cumberland Insurance Group, Cooper Levenson Attorneys at Law, Kindle Auto Group, La Mer Beachfront Inn, McMahon Insurance Agency, Newfield National Bank, Tropicana Casino & Resort Atlantic City, SOSH Architects and Spiezle Architectural Group Inc.

Atlantic Cape established the Foundation in 1978 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity to build a broad base of financial support for its programs and services. The Foundation has raised more than $5 million for scholarships, Foundation operations and to enhance academic programs and the campus environment. Comprised of prominent area business and civic leaders who volunteer their time and resources serving as the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, the Foundation committed more than $365,000 in scholarships in 2016 alone.
