Atlantic Cape Community College held a Veterans Gratitude and Resources Fair, May 3, on its Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd. The event was well attended and showcased many vendors and resources that are available to veterans.
Lt. Col. James Garcia, an adjunct instructor at Atlantic Cape, shared his experience as a veteran with the United States Air Force and the New Jersey Air National Guard. He spoke with students about being a recipient of the GI Bill, and the many opportunities afforded to veterans. Garcia resides in Clayton.
Assistance services included in the fair were: Military OneSource, Cape Assist, Department of Veterans Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program, Atlantic Cape Community College Continuing Education and New Jersey State Police. There are currently 130 veterans enrolled at the college.
