Spangler Library Hosts March 23 Mountain Climbing Documentary, Talk at WACC

The Spangler Library invites the college community to attend a film screening and mountain climbing discussion at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, in Room 204 at the Worthington Atlantic City Campus.

Have you ever wondered what goes through the minds of mountain climbers during an attempt to summit a massive peak thousands of feet high? Come discover just that with a screening of the 2015 Sundance Audience Documentary Award winning film, Meru. The film chronicles a team of climbers who attempt to be the very first humans ever to conquer a 21,850-foot-high Himalayan peak.

Before the film, we will also have a special discussion with Jessica Carideo, a local avid rock and ice climber and the lead organizer for the Jersey Rock Climbers Meetup Group. She has summited numerous peaks including Mt. Rainier, Aconcagua, Cotopaxi, Illiniza and, most recently, Ama Dablam in the Himalayas.

And there will be free popcorn!
