Jeff Wenzel of Egg Harbor Township is Atlantic Cape Community College’s 2016 Employee of the Year. Wenzel joined the college in 2004 as a Non-Credit Registration Coordinator; in 2005, he was promoted to Program Developer/Coordinator for Continuing Education; in 2008, he was promoted to Senior Manager for Continuing Education Compliance and Budgets; and in 2013 he transferred to his current position, Senior Manager, Grants Accountant. He is also the adviser of the college’s Lacrosse Club.
Former supervisor Jean McAlister stated, “Jeff’s strengths include communication skills and organizational skills including an ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Jeff is a team player and pitches in where ever needed. He is respected by his supervisor and colleagues for his leadership capabilities.”
In selecting Wenzel for the award, co-workers specifically commended his dedication, organizational skills, level of professionalism and cheerful attitude.
The Employee of the Year award is presented to a member of support staff who makes Atlantic Cape a place where students and visitors feel comfortable and welcomed. The Employee of the Year is someone who works hard and is also pleasant and helpful. Wenzel will receive a reserved parking spot and gift certificate for Careme’s, the on-campus restaurant run by the Academy of Culinary Arts.
