At one minute past midnight on the third Thursday of each November, more than one million cases of Beaujolais Nouveau, the newest wine from the Beaujolais region of France, begin a journey to all parts of the world.
Wine enthusiasts can celebrate the release of several nouveau wines at 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College, 5100 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing. In conjunction with the Atlantic City chapter of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the Academy offers a limited number of tickets to this celebration where guests will be treated to authentic French country food and tantalizing desserts prepared and served by ACA students.
“This event offers our students an opportunity to network with industry professionals and work one-on-one with ACA faculty to create unique recipes using high-end ingredients,” Chef Kelly McClay, dean of the Academy of Culinary Arts, said.
Beaujolais Nouveau is a fun, uncomplicated red wine meant to be enjoyed soon after bottling. Several varieties will be available for tasting, accompanied by delectable food prepared by ACA students.
Proceeds support scholarships for culinary and hospitality students at Atlantic Cape. Past events have raised more than $75,000 in scholarships. The cost of the celebration is $65 per person.
