Jesse O. Kurtz, senior manager, web systems & marketing, won Atlantic City’s 6th Ward City Council seat in Tuesday’s election. Kurtz received more than 70 percent of the vote (834 to 316 with the final 81 ballots to be counted on Saturday), making his the largest margin of victory of the three contested local races in Atlantic City. Kurtz ran on a platform of affordability, vibrancy and transparency. He begins his four-year term of office on Jan. 1, 2016.
“Accelerating Developmental English at Atlantic Cape: The Triad Model” (F.3), presented by Richard Russell, assistant professor of English; Maryann McCall, assistant professor of developmental English; and Stephanie Natale-Boianelli, assistant professor of developmental English and accelerated learning program coordinator, at the Two-Year College English Association Northeast Conference in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, has now been nominated for a TYCA/NCTE 2016 Diana Hacker Outstanding Programs in English award.
