Atlantic Cape Community College’s Art Gallery will feature renowned watercolor artist James McFarlane’s paintings, Oct. 2-24, at the gallery, located inside the William Spangler Library, D-Building, of Atlantic Cape’s Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike.
McFarlane, president of the American Watercolor Society, finds inspiration for his paintings from the beauty of his native state, Pennsylvania, and neighboring states, regular vacations to Maine, or quiet places and exotic sites he has encountered on trips abroad. He also paints in gouache, often on a collage base for added texture with color being the true subject.
The gallery hours are: 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m., Monday and Wednesday; 9:30 a.m. – 9 p.m., Tuesday; 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday; 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., Friday; and 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday.
The gallery will host monthly exhibits of a wide variety of works including drawings, paintings, printmaking, computer arts, ceramics, sculpture, photography, mixed media, 2-D design and crafts. Showcased artists will be students, faculty and local artisans.
