Aug. 20 Information Session at Atlantic Cape Offers Overview of Training for Operations Technician in Gas Industry

Are you unemployed and looking for a career in the gas industry? Atlantic Cape Community College will hold an information session about its Operations Technician for the Natural Gas Industry training, 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 20. Training begins Sept. 28.

The Operations Technician Training for the Natural Gas Industry is a comprehensive 124-hour course that includes classroom and field training. Topics include:

  • Plastic pipe fusion and installation
  • Leak detection
  • Accident Awareness and Prevention
  • Regulation of gas meters
  • Using Operations Technician Equipment
  • Introduction to Word/Resume Writing

Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared to take the National Gas Association New Construction Operator Qualification Exam. There are jobs available locally for those who pass the exam.
