Atlantic Cape Community College Students Receive $170,000 in Scholarships

scholarshipsAtlantic Cape Community College awarded 180 scholarships totaling $170,000 at its 48th Annual Scholarship and Awards Ceremony May 18. The scholarships and their recipients include:

A&R Mack Foundation Scholarship—awarded to an Atlantic or Cape May County resident majoring in business who has a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Presented to Chloe Myrick of Northfield.

AAUW Marion MacEwan Second Chance Scholarship—awarded to a returning Cape May County female student who has completed at least 15 credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Presented to Allison Aaron of North Wildwood and Kimberly Geiger of Del Haven.

ACCCEA Union Scholarship—awarded to an Atlantic or Cape May County student who is a member or has an immediate family member in the NJEA with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Presented to Yunuen Sabatino of Absecon.

Albert Jones Award—awarded to a student aspiring toward a career in the human services field. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better. Presented to Flor Cruz of Egg Harbor Township.

Alyce Van Sant Eshbach Scholarship—awarded to a returning female student who resides in Atlantic or Cape May County majoring in allied health and in good academic standing. Presented to Stephanie Adair of Mays Landing.

American Association of University Women Atlantic County Branch Scholarship—awarded to a full-time female student pursuing an associate degree at Atlantic Cape Community College. Presented to Mary Addo of Egg Harbor Township and Jessa Adiletto of Clermont.

American Association of University Women Atlantic County Branch Scholarship—awarded to a full-time female student pursuing a STEM degree at Stockton University. Presented to Brenda Aguilar-Guzman of Hammonton and Brittany Beals of Galloway.

American Association of University Women Atlantic County Branch Scholarship—awarded to a second-year female student who plans to attend a New Jersey state college or university in a baccalaureate program. Must be an Atlantic County resident with high scholastic ability and good moral character. Presented to Ayah Elsayed of Galloway.

Andy Family Scholarship—awarded to students majoring in business. Presented to Amanda Miner of Egg Harbor Township; Hillary Paldini and Roberto Tanenbaum both of Mays Landing and Long Vu of Atlantic City.

Andy J. Scholarship—awarded to a full-time student majoring in culinary arts or business. Presented to Safiyyah Johnson of Mays Landing.

Anonymous Scholarship—awarded to a culinary student with a minimum of 12 credits, in good academic standing. Student must have a GPA of 2.5 or better. Presented to Ivette Garcia Mones of Manahawkin.

Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala Scholarship—awarded to second-year culinary arts majors who are outstanding in attendance and ethics with three letters of recommendation from chef educators and in good academic standing. Baucus & Co. Scholarship—awarded to Atlantic or Cape May County students majoring in business administration. Presented to Jehan Attiyeh, Sevil Nimetullaieva, Senna Syed and Rejoana Yesmin all of Atlantic City; Tudor Bejinari of Wildwood; Christina Falzani and Safiyyah Johnson both of Mays Landing; Richard Fognano of Hammonton, Jessalyn Nguyen of Egg Harbor Township and Manpreet Singh of Vineland.

Boardwalk Regents Club Scholarship—awarded to a student who is a graduate of Atlantic County Special

Services or who is interested in pursuing a career working with the disabled. Presented to Julia Belmonte of Absecon.

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Restaurant Gala Scholarship—awarded to a second-year culinary arts major with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Must be recognized as outstanding in attendance and ethics and have two letters of recommendation from chef educators. Presented to Erinn Hendricks of Millville.

Box Office Bucks Scholarship—awarded to a performing arts major who is interested in pursuing a career in live stage theater. Presented to Adrianna Hill of Galloway.

Caesars Foundation Restaurant Gala Scholarship—awarded to a second-year culinary arts major with a GPA of 2.5 or better. Students must be recognized as outstanding in attendance and ethics as evidenced by two letters of recommendation from chef educators. Edward James Yoa Memorial Award—awarded to a full-time Atlantic or Cape May County student with a GPA of 3.4 or better and plans to transfer. Presented to Diane Coffman of Brigantine.

Filomena P. Caruso Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a culinary arts student with a GPA of 2.5 or better who is outstanding in attendance and ethics as evidenced by two letters of recommendation from chef educators. Presented to Amanda Giamporcaro of Blue Anchor.

Janice Leach Memorial Scholarship—awarded to nursing students with a GPA of 3.0 or better. Students must be involved in the Student Nurses Club at Atlantic Cape. Joseph O’Connor “Pay It Forward” Scholarship—awarded to a Cape May County resident with a GPA of 2.5 or higher who is hard working and volunteers. Presented to Sean O’Brien of North Wildwood.

Joy Eshbach Roehnert Scholarship—awarded to a female student majoring in nursing and enrolled at Atlantic Cape, in good academic standing, who resides in Atlantic or Cape May County. Presented to Alena Maroz of Egg Harbor Township.

Karen M. Brown Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a student pursuing a baccalaureate degree in mathematics. Recipient must demonstrate qualities of strong character and motivation. Presented to Galena Lyubenova of Mays Landing.

Ken Drake Scholarship—awarded to a student with a GPA of 3.4 or better pursuing a career in the arts. Presented to Ivonne Perez of Pleasantville.

Kevin Cooper Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a returning full- or part-time liberal arts student with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Presented to Lexus Holden of Pleasantville.

Kilgerman Family Scholarship—awarded to student based on faculty recommendation of demonstrated creativity. Samuel and Gladys Levinson Scholarship—awarded to an Atlantic or Cape May County high school graduate showing scholastic ability who will attend Atlantic Cape in the fall. Presented to Tawhidul Siddique of Egg Harbor Township.

Scramble “Fore” Scholarship Golf Tournament Scholarship—awarded to Atlantic or Cape May County students in good academic standing. Presented to Joelmer Acevedo of Wildwood; Wade Breslin, Roxanne LaPlant and Danielle Whitten all of Villas; Natalia Cabarcas of Marmora; Theresa Hart and Kiersten Workman both of Ocean City; Jade Miller of Cape May; Kaitlyn Ormston of Cape May Court House; Kaitlin Seliger of Swainton and Molly Thompson of North Cape May.

SouthShore Foundation Scholarship—awarded to allied health or nursing students who are enrolled in the clinical portion of the program with two faculty recommendations. Presented to Stephanie Adair and Amy Moss both of Mays Landing; Lauren Dalzell of Linwood; Antonio Fiorentino, Rebecca Krauss, Jessica Larwa and Jamie Scheer all of Galloway and Stephen Weber of Absecon.

Thomas C. Conover Memorial Scholarship—awarded to science major transferring to a baccalaureate program in science in good academic standing. Presented to Caroline Espinal-Bueno of Pleasantville.

Tommy Kraemer Memorial Scholarship—awarded to culinary arts students who are actively practicing, preserving and protecting the oceans by choosing to conserve natural resources through organic gardening and sustainable seafood practices.
