Did you know the Community FoodBank of New Jersey will hold a free public food distribution, 10 a.m.-noon, Saturday, June 20, at its Egg Harbor Township facility, 6735 Black Horse Pike? If you are currently receiving unemployment benefits, or if you have been unemployed sometime in the past 18 months, you are eligible to pick up free food for you and your family. Verification of unemployment benefits is required. Call (609) 383-8843, ext. 111, for more information.
“As unemployment benefits have been running out, many families may be struggling needlessly to put food on the table,” said Kim Arroyo, director of programs and agency relations at the FoodBank. “We want to make sure that everyone is aware of where they can go to get help to feed their family.”
The Southern Branch of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey distributes an average of 180,000 pounds of groceries each week to more than 250 partner charities throughout Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties.
