Will Morey to Serve as Commencement Speaker

Cape May County business leader Will Morey will deliver the keynote address at Atlantic Cape Community College’s 48th annual commencement, 11 a.m., Thursday, May 21. Morey is president and CEO of The Morey Organization, most commonly known as Morey’s Piers, a family-owned entertainment, amusement, hotel and dining enterprise in Wildwood.

Morey is a regionally recognized leader in the tourism industry. He has also served in a leadership role with the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation. In support of the college, he co-chaired the Foundation’s first major gifts campaign, Create Opportunity, which exceeded the fundraising goal and raised $3.4 million. Those funds supported scholarships for students and equipment for the new Science, Technology, Engineering & Math building.

Morey is also noted for his support of community efforts in Cape May County and serves on the Board of Chosen Freeholders, providing oversight for economic development of the county.

“He is an inspiring, innovative and successful leader in a wide range of roles,” said Dr. Peter L. Mora, Atlantic Cape president. “Mr. Morey’s efforts in supporting economic development in our region, his perspective as a business leader and elected official, and his advocacy for Atlantic Cape Community College will enable him to provide a unique and important message to our graduates.”

Morey also participates in the leadership of the amusement industry through the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, where he served as board chairman in 2013 for the 4,500-member group with representation from 95 countries. He supports many charitable and community initiatives and has served on the Board of Education for both Wildwood and Wildwood Crest and the Boardwalk Special Improvement District. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce and presently serves as co-chair of the new Coast Guard Community Foundation.
