Culture Collective and Atlantic Cape Community College will celebrate Women’s History Month with a performance of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, an award-winning play that travels through the journey of love and discovery.
The March 27 show begins at 7 p.m. in the Walter Edge Theater. Tickets are $15 general admission and $5 for students with a valid ID. Faculty and staff can buy tickets at the discounted rate of $10 with an Atlantic Cape ID at the time of purchase.
A powerful work called a “choreopoem,” For Colored Girls is a series of 20 poems by Ntozake Shange that tell stories of complications and sorrows, as well as joy and hope. The production includes music and dance and presents the audience with a personal view of the decisions, loves and dreams while combatting issues with race, gender and identity.
