For those of you suffering from the winter blues, don’t forget that Daylight Saving Time begins March 8. That’s not far away!
CMCCers are working to spice up February with several events — some full of information, and some just for fun.
CMCC Student Services recognizes Black History Month with a “Random Acts of Kindness” interactive display board on the first floor. Students have written the following: “help someone,” “smile to another person,” to name a few. Thank you to Alissa Roberston, Student Services, for creating such a positive place where students can go and express their acts of kindness.
Student Services has established a Helping Table on the first floor, just across from Room 105. Included, for students to take as needed, are: gently used clothing articles, books and nonperishable foods. Donations are always welcome. Please contact Tammy DeFranco at ext. 8113 or email@example.com for more information, or to drop off goods.
Zumba was offered over the lunch hour Feb. 11 for students and employees alike. The instructor, student Josh Maldonado, hopes to get more CMCCers off their chairs and in the dining room at the next Zumba session. Look for information around campus for the date and time of the next session.
Wendy Gray, Student Services, has offered a series of drop-in sessions to help students Get Online with Atlantic Cape. The next session is Feb. 19, 12 – 3 p.m., in Room 105. Wendy offers one-on-one help with accessing WebAdvisor, text alerts, college email, Blackboard and the daily class cancellation website. Nice job, Wendy!
Stockton University will offer Instant Decision Day at CMCC Monday, Feb. 23, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., in Room 214. Questions? Contact Wendy Gray at ext. 6786 or firstname.lastname@example.org
A Rowan University admissions representative will visit CMCC Wednesday, Feb. 25, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., in the second floor lobby. This is a fine opportunity to visit with two nearby colleges in the same week!
Visit here for upcoming transfer events.
Classroom technology training for our adjunct faculty is set for Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m., in Room 204. Karl Giulian, of the business faculty, will facilitate the workshop in person, and interactive television (ITV) will connect attendees at all campuses.
Never attended (N/A) grades are due in WebAdvisor Feb. 27. Faculty should look for a notice in their college email with instructions.
We welcome Ali Iddinn, who joins the testing team full-time next week at CMCC. A hearty thank you to part-time employee Carol Cook, who filled in admirably in the interim.
And looking ahead, if you are a blood donor, or if you’ve ever considered donating, CMCC is sponsoring another Red Cross blood drive Wednesday, March 25, 2 – 7 p.m., in Room 113. More information will follow soon. It’s important to note identification is required to donate.
Have a worry-free weekend!
