Visit the Atlantic Cape Art Gallery in Spangler Library, D-building, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 9, for a reception to meet artist Paul Dempsey and talk with him about his photography. Dempsey will present a Gallery Talk at 8 p.m.
Dempsey, a full-time photographer for 12 years, is well known for his photography work throughout the South Jersey and Philadelphia areas. His use of light and composition to create compelling images is a trademark of his style. His nationally published work covers a wide range of subjects from food to fashion. Dempsey works as a full-time wedding photographer and also works in his Galloway studio where he shoots portraits. He says of his work: “I love what I do. I really love it. It’s difficult to put a label on my photography – I shoot many different subjects in an assortment of styles. I approach each one differently, but the common thread is that I want my photos to tell a story, to capture a moment, a feeling or an emotion.”
The gallery exhibit includes photos of live performances, winter landscapes, studio portraits and composited images, which will be on display through Jan. 17.
