Scholarship recipients at the Beaujolais Nouveau Wine Celebration held Friday, Nov. 21

The Beaujolais Nouveau Wine Celebration held Friday, Nov. 21, welcomed 185 attendants to the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College’s Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike, where they dined on authentic French country food and desserts prepared and served by ACA students, as well as sampled fine wine, including Beaujolais Nouveau.

During the celebration, the Atlantic City chapter of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs awarded five $500 scholarships to culinary and hospitality students. Scholarship recipients are Taylor Borz of Collings Lakes; Blaise Colamarino of Washington Township; Seth Eisenstein of Mays Landing; Becca Desmond of Atlantic City; and Aglee Burke of Millville. The award also included membership into the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.

Another highlight of the event was the extravagant dessert display, prepared by ACA Chef Educator Tree McCann’s International Pastry Preparation Class, a course brand new to the Academy. Desserts filled the display room, each representing a different country or region, which guests could feast on.

Proceeds raised at the event support scholarships for culinary and hospitality students at Atlantic Cape Community College. Past events have raised more than $75,000 in scholarships
