Galloway resident Paul Dempsey will showcase a collection titled, “Recent Works,” at Atlantic Cape’s newly renovated art gallery Dec. 5 – Jan. 17. The gallery is located in a large space in the William Spangler Library at Atlantic Cape’s Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike. A free “Meet the Artist” reception will be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. followed by an “Artist Talk” at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the gallery.
The exhibit will include photos of live performances, winter landscapes, studio portraits and composite images. Dempsey received his B.A. in Music from Rowan University and has been a fulltime professional photographer for 12 years. His nationally published work covers a wide range of subjects from food to fashion. Dempsey says, “I love what I do. I really love it. It’s difficult to put a label on my photography – I shoot many different subjects in an assortment of styles. I approach each one differently, but the common thread is that I want my photos to tell a story, to capture a moment, a feeling or an emotion.”
Gallery hours are: 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays. The exhibit will be free and open to the public.
