October is finishing up with some noteworthy and tasty events at CMCC.

More than three dozen students and employees dropped in to see Dr. Mitchell Levy, vice president of student affairs and branch campus management, during an informal Meet & Greet Oct. 20. Everyone had the opportunity to meet Dr. Levy and provide feedback on how things are going for them at CMCC. Of course, some freshly baked pumpkin cookies from Madison’s Bakery helped facilitate the conversation!   Continue reading

Board Approves Contracts, Personnel Matters at October Meeting

The Board of Trustees at Atlantic Cape Community College met Oct. 28 at the college’s Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus to approve personnel matters, contracts and purchases.

In Personnel Action, the Board:

–Approved the retirement of Suzanne Feye of Linwood, dining room educator, effective Feb. 1. Feye joined the college in 1985 as a part-time catering assistant and received a full-time appointment in 1986 as catering manager for the Academy of Culinary Arts. In 1990, she was appointed the role of dining room educator and has trained hundreds of students in that capacity. Continue reading

ACA students in Chef Educator Annmarie Chelius’s Advanced Baking Class created a vegan dessert in recognition of World Vegan Day, celebrated Saturday, Nov. 1. The exercise was to help familiarize the students with the ingredients that go into vegan baking. Continue reading

VALIC “Retirement Income Strategies” Workshop Nov. 5 at Mays Landing Campus

Christopher J. Carrozza, CPA, ChFCÒ, our VALIC Financial Planning Advisor, will present a 45-minute seminar, “Retirement Income Strategies – Making Distribution Decisions for your PERS, ABP and other Retirement Plans,” 2:30 – 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5 in room J-202 of the Mays Landing Campus. The seminar will be broadcast to both the Cape May and Atlantic City campuses. CMCC employees can view  the workshop in room 324 and WACC employees, in Room 215.
