Rewrites Announces Fall Writing Events

Rewrites, the award-winning college literary magazine, is back! The club’s first meeting is at 5 p.m., Monday, Sept. 22, in B-104. New members are always welcome.

This year, Rewrites encourages the college community to submit work via its online submission management system: Deadline is Dec. 31.

Also this fall, Rewrites will host several events, including:

  • Zine-Making Workshop–5 p.m., Monday, Sept. 29, in B-104. Learn how to make small handmade publications. Materials will be provided, though participants are encouraged to bring ideas, images and writing to use.
  • Letter Writing Night–5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 6; Monday, Nov. 3; and Monday, Dec. 1; in B-104. We’ll re-discover the lost art of letter writing every first Monday this semester. Those who attend will be provided stamps, paper and envelopes. As essayist Phyllis Theroux notes, “To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart.”
