Great Summer Participation! Thank you to our membership for participating during the summer at many campus-sponsored events, giving your “free” time to make our work environment a more welcoming place.
NJEA PRIDE in Higher Education participated in New Student Orientation Aug. 7 in Mays Landing, Aug. 12 in Atlantic City, and Aug. 13 in Cape May County. New students received a red NJEA PRIDE bag and a spiral notebook, pens, highlighter, marker and USB lanyard to help them start the semester off with much needed supplies. We are always pleased to see the students using them.
Welcome Back Buccaneers! NJEA PRIDE participated in the annual Buccaneer/Club Recruitment Days, Sept. 16-17. The students enjoyed the Philly soft pretzel giveaway from NJEA PRIDE, among the many activities each day. Thank you to the volunteers who spent their lunch hour going above and beyond to support our students.
The Convention is Coming Right UP! Members, it’s time to make plans to attend the annual NJEA Convention. Here are some reasons why you should:
- More than 300 workshops and an impressive roster of presenters, including Finnish educator Pasi Sahlberg, Acting Commissioner of Education David Hespe, and a session with the State Board of Education.
- More networking opportunities, including a dedicated event for younger members.
- An enhanced High Tech Hall, including showcases from Apple, Edmodo, Verizon, Black Rocket, Teq and Project Foundry.
- More giveaways than ever before, including a car, round-trip flights to anywhere in the United States, and a week in London for two.
Everything you need to know about the NJEA Convention is available on the convention website and in the convention app. Search “NJEA Events” in your app store, or point your mobile browser to http://m.core-apps.com/njeaevents.
